Romantic Brunch For Two
Romantic Brunch For Two

It is ten in the morning, and you feel romantic mood strike you on a lovely Sunday morning. Tell your partner to relax, and slip away to surprise them by preparing an easy brunch--but one with flair! First, set a cozy little table with your finest dishes. Be sure to use cloth table coverings and napkins. In the center of the table place a floating bowl of flowers. (Daisies with the stems cut off or rose petals make a nice presentation.) If there are some floating candles available, that will also brighten up the table. If you can find scented floated candles, a cinnamon scented candle can be especially romantic. Next place the following items on the table.

A champagne cocktail in the center of the plate.

Make the cocktail by filling the glass halfway with fresh-squeezed orange juice and then fill the rest of the glass with your favorite champagne. For those who do not drink, you can add spark to the drink by adding ginger ale. Be sure to make a toast to your partner before you begin brunch to let them know how much you care about them and the special moments you both share.

A small bowl of fresh fruits.

Use fresh fruits that are in season, but try to include some of the more exotic looking fruits like, kiwi, star fruits, etc.

A basket filled with croissants fresh from the bakery.

Along with the croissants place a small tray, or several small condiment bowls with toppings such as raspberry jam, orange marmalade, and strawberry preserves.

A serving plate with scrambled eggs and link sausages placed on one side.

You can add a nice texture to the scrambled eggs if you put small dollops of softened cream cheese in the eggs while you are scrambling them. Three or four small dollops are enough. Make sure the cheese melts into the eggs. This is an easy brunch and one that I have found consistently keep the romance flourishing. Do I recommend that brunch be done often? But of course!
